So we thought we’d answer a few frequently asked questions about what they are and how they differ from the other injectable treatments that we know about.

What’s a Skin Booster?

Skin boosters are subdermal injectable cosmetic skin treatments that work with your skin to create a range of subtle and effective smoothing, plumping, lifting, hydrating, line and wrinkle-reducing, and glow-inducing effects to the skin to make it look naturally the best it possibly can.

How do skin booster injections help

As you age, your skin suffers from the natural decline of processes within it such as collagen production, hyaluronic acid production and help as cell renewal becomes slower, 

It’s also subject to environmental factors that attack free radicals such as UV, pollution and chemicals in the environment.

Different skin boosters help the skin in different ways to counter the effects of these stressors and they help the underlying layers of the skin with declining collagen and elastin levels and they help with hydration to plump and firm the skin so that it can renew itself and slow aging processes.

Which skin boosters are the best?

We currently offer three different injectible skin boosters at Studio 3 Collagen Spa. There are a range of ways they target skin concerns and we can use combinations of them to address any improvements you would like to make.

Profhilo – A subdermal skin remodelling treatment that creates lifting and tightening of the skin. It remodels aging and sagging tissue by stimulating 4 different types of collagen and elastin with one of the highest concentrations of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid on the market.

Plenhyage XL – Intensive repair for your skin that regenerates the skin at a cellular level by using polynucleotides to not just repair damaged tissue (as well as treating acne, rosacea or age spots), but which can also prevent and reduce the signs of aging and improve the skin’s, vibrancy, tone, and texture.

Seventy Hyal 2000 creates a luminous-looking complexion by offering subdermal hydration and collagen production. Through bio-stimulating injections of hyaluronic acid, radiant-looking skin is achieved by improving hydration levels within the skin. This creates a youthful-looking appearance, it rejuvenates and softens fine lines, hydrates and improves the texture and condition of the skin.

Why does Studio 3 Collagen Spa recommend skin boosters for collagen renewal

Skin boosters give the skin a more refined, natural and refreshed look than other treatments.

While they work from under the skin, they involve a more superficial administration of products which gives, gentle youthful results and has a much lower risk of issues. For example, Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance that is in your body, which means it has a much lower risk of allergy.

Our treatments are very carefully done so you won’t be left with a ‘Botox disaster’ that has to be corrected. With them, we do not remodel or change to contours of your face in the way that dermal fillers might, nor will you get the rigid eyebrow look commonly associated with Botox. While those treatments have their place in aesthetics, with skin boosters, your looks won’t be perceived by others to have had any deliberate modification. This means that you can look and feel like the best version of yourself whilst also benefiting from the additional advantages that these products offer.

What’s the difference between Botox, dermal fillers and skin boosters

Botox is an injection of a toxin into the muscle that temporarily stops it from working. Cosmetically, it is usually used to reduce wrinkles in the face.

Dermal fillers (face and lip fillers) are non-permanent substances that are injected into the face to fill lines and wrinkles and to add volume to areas of the face such as cheeks, lips, full 

Skin boosters can help to target the same issues as botox and fillers by restoring lost volume, sagging of skin, smoothing the nasolabial folds and smoothing wrinkles, but instead of disabling the ability of the muscles to work, or adding soft gels under the surface to fill the skin out, they encourage the skin’s natural processes and add hydration which encourages the skin to be plumped, fresher and have more innate structural integrity.
